Book 1: The Wanbi Compound
In future Earth, the Mars Rush has ended. But for twelve-year-old Mary, the Elites’ decision to abandon contaminated Earth is ancient history. Mary’s life is half over, and all she wants is to live with protective Elder Jane, hide her weaknesses from dictator Professor Friday, and avoid banishment from her compound.
When her childhood home is unexpectedly destroyed by a returning Elite’s spacecraft, Mary is forced to flee into the toxic Appalachian Jungle – Wanderer territory. Hostile outcasts try to coax Mary into joining their search for a hidden spaceship, preserved from the Mars Rush days. The thought of escaping Earth is tempting … but at what cost? As Mary sinks deeper into the conspiracies of the Wanderers, she must decide what she’s willing to sacrifice – and whom she can trust – for a one-way ticket to Mars.
Book 2: The Topia Colony
After fleeing Earth on one of the last spaceships bound for Mars, sixteen-year-old Mary and her crew crash land on the mysterious Red Planet. The newcomers are welcomed by elder Topia colonists and invited to stay - as long as they abide by strict rules.
Mary is assigned to food cultivation and quickly realizes that water is running low in the enclosed community. Athena, the Topia leader, instructs Mary and fellow citizen Saeed to go in search of a new water source outside the compound.
During their quest the new friends stumble upon irrefutable evidence of primitive life on Mars, shattering long-held beliefs of Martian history and jeopardizing the sanctity of everything they've come to know in Topia.
Book 3: The Trading Post
Eighteen-year-old Mary wanders the desolate Martian landscape after escaping the Topia Colony. She reaches a large, thriving settlement known as the Trading Post and finds herself quarantined by its corrupt leader, Prince. Surprise visitors negotiate her freedom, and she is given an opportunity to make a life for herself in the colony. Mary comes to love the bustling community and lives happily until the need for resources takes her again outside the safety of her home.
During a sandstorm, Mary becomes trapped inside a lava tube, where she comes face-to-face with an ancient being. The two discover an unpredictable connection, having more in common than either could have imagined.
